1. Purposes of Processing Personal Information
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") processes personal information for the following purposes and does not use it for any purpose other than those stated below. For IP administrative tasks: Including the reception of applications, registration management, examination, trials, publication, and searches related to patents, utility models, trademarks, and designs (hereinafter "Intellectual Property Rights"). For online counseling: Client identification and verification, and the maintenance and management of counseling records. For recruitment: Verifying the identity, academic background, and work experience of applicants; managing past application history; determining and communicating hiring decisions; and confirming interest in future recruitment opportunities.
2. Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information
Unless THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") is obligated to preserve personal information in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, the data subject's personal information is, in principle, retained and used until the purpose of its processing is achieved, and will be destroyed without delay once said purpose is achieved.
3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") does not provide personal information to third parties, except where the data subject has provided separate consent or where it is based on the provisions of relevant laws and regulations, such as the Personal Information Protection Act.
4. Entrustment of Personal Information Processing
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") does not, in principle, provide personal information to external parties without the user's prior consent. In exceptional cases where an obligation to provide arises under relevant laws, we will strictly interpret such laws and strive to ensure that the infringement of the user's privacy is minimized. THESSEN IP entrusts some of the tasks necessary for service provision to external companies. In such cases, THESSEN IP stipulates the necessary matters and exercises management and supervision to ensure that the entrusted companies process personal information securely.
5. Rights and Obligations of the Data Subject and How to Exercise Them
The data subject may exercise the following personal information protection-related rights against THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") at any time: The right to request access to personal information. The right to request correction if there are errors in personal information. The right to request deletion. The right to request the suspension of processing.

7. Destruction of Personal Information
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") destroys personal information without delay when it becomes unnecessary, such as upon the expiration of the retention period or the achievement of the processing purpose.
8. Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information: Administrative Measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans; regular training for employees and staff. Technical Measures: Management of access rights (e.g., setting passwords for personal information processing systems or computers storing personal information); installation of security programs such as antivirus software; encryption of files containing personal information. Physical Measures: Locking mechanisms and access control for locations where personal information is stored or kept.
9. Data Protection Officer (DPO)
THESSEN International Patent & Law Office ("THESSEN IP") has designated a Personal Information Protection Officer as follows, who is responsible for overseeing the overall operations related to personal information processing, and for handling complaint processing and damage relief for data subjects in connection with personal information processing.

10. Changes to the Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is effective from May 10, 2021.
